For many businesses, arbitration is a faster, more specialised and more confidential alternative to litigation, provided the arbitration clause is well drafted, the right arbitrator is chosen and the proceedings are handled with legal precision from the outset. More than a decade of my practice has been devoted to arbitration, both as arbitrator and as counsel to the parties.

Serving as Arbitrator

I served as an arbitrator at the Arbitration Center from 2014 to 2024, and have been an arbitrator at Khaneh Cinema since 2024. I accept appointments as sole arbitrator or party-appointed arbitrator in contractual and commercial disputes, particularly those involving information technology, software, e-commerce, fintech and payment services.

Drafting Arbitration Clauses

Many disputes become protracted because the arbitration clause is vague or incomplete. When drafting and reviewing contracts, I tailor the clause to the subject matter, the parties, the language, the seat and the applicable rules, whether the arbitration is ad hoc or institutional.

Domestic and International Commercial Arbitration in Iran

Depending on the nature of the dispute, arbitration in Iran is governed either by the arbitration provisions of the Civil Procedure Code or by the Law on International Commercial Arbitration. The differences between the two regimes, from time limits and the effect of the award to the grounds for setting it aside, directly affect the outcome of a case. I also work with foreign parties that have contracts with Iranian companies, in both English and Persian.

Electronic Arbitration

I am the founder of Arbito, an online platform for referring and conducting arbitration. Electronic arbitration significantly reduces the cost and duration of proceedings, especially for high-volume, lower-value disputes such as contractual claims of online businesses.
